Burger and fries:
- Hamburger buns
- Ground beef
- Garlic (chunks, not finely diced)
- Onion (lots)
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue sauce (if you don’t have a bottle of this dynamite, you’re only hurting yourself)
- Shoestring fries
- Ketchup
- **Special ingredient: Soy sauce, substituted for Worcestershire sauce because I didn’t have any.
I looked in the fridge, saw the ketchup bottle, and decided that dinner could be anything that incorporated ketchup (typical decision-making process, yes?). Fries? Check. What to go with the fries? BURGER. Opportunity to use the best barbecue sauce known to mankind? CHECK. Soy sauce was interesting, since the saltiness balanced out the sweetness of the barbecue sauce. Also, left the garlic chunkier than usual to make biting into the burger more exciting. Now, I like garlic as much than the next guy (that’s a lie, I like it more), but it was like playing Russian roulette…except with garlic chunks in a hamburger. Only made 3 burgers since it was just me eating, but still used the grill anyway, because who the fuck pan-fries hamburgers?
Grilled to perfection, just past the border between medium-rare and medium. Boy were these burgers juicy. Best I’ve ever had. Seriously. Nom.
